Overview
Due to the nature of the job we are currently looking for a Female Security Officer.
The main purpose of this role is to security-check all customers using the Newhaven Ferry Terminal in accordance with legislative requirements. To achieve this, the Port Security staff will be fully trained in the appropriate security techniques. Previous Security experience is welcome but not mandatory.
SIS licence is not essential - internal training
Job is based on shift pattern 3 days on 3 days off with average of 36h per week. Due to industry and unsocial working hours we offer 28 days of Annual Leave.
Summary of main role responsibilities
Manually search vehicles, freight and passengers to ensure customers are abiding by legal restrictions, in accordance with the requirements laid down by the governing body.
Marshall all freight and passenger vehicles between the designated holding areas (specifically dangerous goods / plug in and abnormal loads) within the specified timescales.
Drive the Passenger Bus to transport passengers between the main terminal and the boat for embarkation and disembarkation within the specified timescales. Driving Licence Cat B is essential and full inhouse training will be provided.
Assist with the handling of passengers’ luggage when shipped by the baggage trolley.
Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the security areas, including the tourist and freight inspection halls.
