Job description
We have now processed over 1.5 billion leasing offers, and more than 10 million are available for our users to search through at any one time. As the leading car leasing comparison platform, we need to deliver search results quickly and reliably to our customers while also making sure that our leasing partners can easily keep their deals up to date. We are constantly looking to improve our core features such as our signature scoring algorithm, our vehicle configurator and our price alerts, and we are keen to explore new ways to improve the experience and value for our customers.
As an engineer at Lease Loco, you will play a key role in building, extending and maintaining our customer facing website while also being heavily involved in solving new challenging problems through world-class technical execution. You will not only contribute to solutions that will make sure our product continues to be the best in the market, but you will be part of reshaping the future of the leasing industry through innovation.
There will be a lot of scope and opportunity to work with varied technologies, we want this product to be amazing and won't shy away from using something that could make it even better!
Core responsibilities:

• Actively participate in every phase of software development including design, implementation, testing, review and documentation
• Write simple, performant and scalable code
• Collaborate with other engineers, designers and product owners to deliver the best solution for our users
• Contribute to the optimisation of our software development life cycle and other internal engineering processes

What we look for:

• Computer Science (or related) degree (Min 2.1).
• Commercial experience and knowledge with Java Script, particularly the React/Redux stack.
• Can write solid, semantic HTML and have experience writing SASS.
• Have experience in crafting mobile-first responsive sites for a range of browsers and devices.
• Know how to develop websites that meet AAA accessibility guidelines.
• Can create code that is performant and meets Core Web Vitals criteria.
• Can take Sketch designs and bring them to life in code.
• Have experience with unit testing and E2E testing.
• Enthusiasm and the ability to work together as part of a team.
• Being proactive and using intuition to spot, resolve and improve current standings and situations.
• The ability to work autonomously on your own with work you are proud of.

Beneficial but not essential:

• Experience with technologies such as Type Script, Rx Js, Next.js and the AWS stack.
