Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Grocery Team Member to join our team at Tropical Island Grocers. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing excellent customer service while ensuring that our grocery department runs smoothly. This position requires strong organisational skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and a passion for helping customers find what they need.
Responsibilities

• Assist customers in locating products and provide information about items in the grocery department.
• Maintain an organised and tidy shopping environment by restocking shelves and ensuring products are displayed attractively.
• Engage in upselling techniques to promote special offers and new products to customers.
• Handle transactions accurately at the checkout, ensuring basic maths skills are applied for processing payments.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations within the grocery section.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations while maintaining cleanliness in the work area.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent time management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Fluent English is highly desirable for effective communication with a diverse customer base.
• Basic maths skills for handling transactions and inventory management.
• Previous experience in retail or customer service is an advantage but not essential.
• A friendly and approachable demeanour with a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
