At Steelcraft we design, manufacture and install a wide range of architectural steel products for the construction industry in the North East. Through our e-commerce brand, Forjj, we also sell these products nationally. Our product lines include balustrade, balconies, railings & gates. We are looking to expand our design team due to rapid growth.
We are looking to take on a trainee 2D or 3D CAD Technician to join the drawing office. Your role would involve the use of either Auto CAD Lt or Solidworks to prepare general and detail CAD drawings. Opportunities will also arise to assist in new product development and other exciting growth projects.
Key responsibilities:

• Production of approval and as-built CAD drawings for customers.
• Production of detail CAD drawings for our manufacturing and site installation teams.
• Combining in-house and customer-supplied information to inform your design decisions.
• Adapting standard and bespoke products to suit site dimensions and layout.
• Preparing accurate cutting lists and supporting documentation.
• Communicating & resolving design queries with clients.
• Maintaining digital and hard copy records of communications, drawings and revisions.

You must be able to express yourself clearly, accurately and concisely in spoken, written and drawn formats. Good mathematical and problem solving abilities are essential to the role. Industry or design experience would be useful but all training will be provided.
Skill Requirements:

• Computer Aptitude – Essential
• Communication (written, spoken & drawn) – Essential

Qualification Requirements:

• Maths GCSE (or equivalent) grade 9-4 (A*-C) - Essential
• CAD Qualification/s – Advantageous
• 3 other GCSEs (or equivalent) grade 9-4 (A*-C) incl. English - Recommended

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £24,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
