Junior Test and Repair Technician

Junior Electronics Lab Technician/Junior Test and Repair Technician (Battery Storage Systems)
Location: Fully on-site at our facility at Chemical Lane, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, ST6 4PB. You must have the ability to reliably commute, or plan to relocate before starting work
Job Type: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm.
Salary: £23.5k - £25k pa DOE (plus performance bonus scheme)

About Us:

We specialise in our range of inverters and battery systems which allow our users to store their renewable/cheap-rate energy, ease pressure on the grid and save some serious money!
Key Accountabilities:
Technical Responsibilities:
  • Conduct evaluation and testing of energy storage electronic equipment.
  • Analyse test results, report findings to senior technicians, and maintain accurate test records.
  • Set up workstations for the lab team, follow standard operating procedures for testing protocols, and shadow lab team members to develop technical knowledge.
  • Update software with findings, work required, spare parts, materials, and labour.
Operational Responsibilities:
  • Perform general warehouse tasks, including manual handling, use of MHE (e.g., counterbalance forklifts, pallet trucks), packing, unpacking, and inventory management.
  • Prioritise health and safety in all activities, ensure safe working practices, and use appropriate PPE.
  • Occasionally assist on-site engineers at client locations.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills including ability to effectively use spreadsheets, produce reports and comfortably deal with volumes of data.
  • Some electrical knowledge & experience would be beneficial such as safe isolation etc.
  • Happy to work towards relevant qualifications to develop your professional knowledge and skills.
  • Basic knowledge of battery systems would be advantageous.
  • Experience in moving goods safely around a warehouse site with a high level of manual handling e.g. lifting and loading.
  • Experience in using MHE (Mechanical Handling Equipment)
  • Ability to work on your own initiative.
Preferred:
  • Valid driving license.
  • A valid Fork-Lift license.
