Synergy are looking for an experienced Kitchen Porter around the area of Falmouth, Cornwall
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced hospitality environment. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in supporting our culinary team by ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about food preparation and the hospitality industry, and who thrive in a collaborative setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
- Support chefs and cooks by providing assistance during food preparation and service.
- Help with stock rotation and inventory management to minimise waste.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist with deliveries by unpacking supplies and storing them appropriately.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- A keen interest in culinary arts and food preparation is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy kitchen setting.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure cleanliness and efficiency.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with kitchen staff.
