We have an exciting opportunity for a LGV Driver to join a great team of people and make a difference within a supportive and values-led Organisation. This is working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern with a minimum of 40 hours per week. This role involves nights out so flexibility is required.
Overall Purpose of the Role:
The LGV Drivers are responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of deliveries and collections.
Key Areas of Responsibility

• Adhere to current transport legislation
• Supervising or assisting in the loading and unloading of goods
• Following traffic reports and changing your route if necessary
• Completing delivery paperwork and legal documentation to the required standard
• Drive efficiently and direct from point to point
• Represent the company at all times in a professional manner
• Ensure all aspects safety and customer site rules are adhered to
• Responsible for the security of any products carried whilst in transit
• Ensuring all delivery and collection notes and paperwork are correct
• Provide accurate paperwork relevant to debriefing of allocated jobs
• Ensuring all transport legislation including driver’s hours and vehicle defect reporting is adhered to
• Provide an exceptional standard of service to our customers
• To adopt a proactive approach to ensure all issues concerns and improvements are communicated to all parties in a timely manner
• To carry out any other reasonable request as detailed by the Transport Office
• Maintain cleanliness of company vehicles and wear uniform and any PPE provided
• Follow company procedures

Health & Safety responsibilities

• Report and support in accidents, incidents and near miss investigations by providing statements and evidence where required
• Ensure accidents, incidents and near miss reporting procedures are understood and implemented
• Follow and adhere to risk assessment controls and PPE requirements
• Adhere to H&S criteria contained within the company SOP’s, Risk Assessments, Policies and Procedures, in accordance with the appropriate H&S legislative elements for the role
• Set a personal example with regard to Health & Safety matters, promoting the safety culture through observations, site standards and workplace safety

Individual competency & role requirements

• A current clean valid C+E Licence; Digital Tacho Card and Drivers CPC;
• Minimum of 2 years LGV driving experience;
• An understanding of the law relating to drivers’ hours, regulations and tachograph;
• Cultural fit; Reliability, discretion, diplomatic manner and impartiality of judgement;
• Flexibility due to nights out as and when required;
• When required, work to the legal permissible driver’s hours;

Changing Waste is an industrial processor of waste located in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It is designed to handle a wide range of waste feedstocks. Through a variety of different processes that utilise the waste as a raw material to create a blend for anaerobic digestion, which in turn is used to generate electricity and gas that is 100% renewable and exported to the national grid.
Group Information: Biote CH4 own and operate a group of anaerobic digestion facilities across the UK. We also provide biological support, emergency response and feedstock supply to other operators within the industry. Our industry expertise means we not only have the knowledge and experience to deal with all the food waste the UK produces. We also have the capacity to handle whatever quantity you need us to, from the majority of sectors across each of our plants. In 2023 Biote CH4 handled 602,318 tonnes of waste, applied 416,732 tonnes of digestate to land, and generated 296,896 MWh of energy.
