Team/Role Overview
Model Risk Management serves as the Second Line of Defence in the firm’s Risk Management Framework with the objective to identify, quantify and mitigate model risk. The role of the model validator (in this position) is to leverage their technical expertise and business understanding to provide effective review and challenge of models that are planned to be used by the Firm’s for Loss and Balance Sheet forecasting for regulatory and non-regulatory purposes. The role includes liaising with multiple stakeholders including model developers, business owners, Governance, Internal Audit and local Regulators across different geographies.

The Model Validation team has a widespread footprint including United States of America, United Kingdom, Europe and India.

What you’ll do:

• Manage model risk across the model life-cycle including model validation, ongoing performance evaluation and annual model reviews.
• Provides guidance to junior validators as and when necessary
• Manages stakeholder interaction with model developers and business owners during the model life-cycle.
• Assesses and quantifies model risk due to model limitations to inform stakeholders of their risk profile and development of compensating controls.
• Contributes to strategic, cross-functional initiatives within the model risk organization.

What we’ll need from you:

• Previous experience in Global Risk management and proficient in data analytics.
• Solid relevant / experience in a quantitative role in risk management at a financial institution.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel, with practical experience in software’s like Python or SAS to build and test predictions.
• Detail oriented and self-motivated with clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Good understanding of a variety of model development and validation testing techniques covering risk models.
• Experience with project management and organizational skills with the capability to handle multiple projects at one time.
