About the role:
An opportunity has arisen in the Genetics and Molecular Pathology Department at The Halo Building at 1 Mabledon Place for a Molecular Biologist, specialising in Molecular Genetics.
This is a full-time position and applications are invited from enthusiastic and motivated individuals. The role includes sample receipt and management, equipment maintenance, nucleic acid extraction and assay processing using a range of manual and automated techniques in a clinical setting.
A science degree or equivalent and attention to detail is essential and laboratory experience in healthcare is desirable, but full training will be provided. The successful candidate will work within a team of Sample Reception Officers, Molecular Biologists, Biomedical Scientists and Clinical Scientists sharing facilities with the Molecular Virology and Molecular Haematology teams who form part of the wider Genetics and Molecular Pathology Department.
The successful applicant will be expected to work 37.5 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday, from 08:00 to 16:30 although flexibility may be required.
