About the role
To manage and continuously develop and improve a psychologically informed support service for individuals placed into temporary accommodation by Westminster City Council at Newman Street. This role will be responsible for ensuring the service runs smoothly and
effectively while overseeing and supporting a staff of team of five and ensuring the service meets KPIs as agreed with commissioners.
Main duties

• Together with the Head of Housing & Progression Services, develop systems and protocols which allows the service to run effectively.
• To provide written reports for funders and commissioners of the service and attend quarterly Contract Monitoring meetings.
• To ensure that key performance indicators are met.
• Responsible for setting and managing the service budget.
• To manage and support a staff team of five, including four Specialist Project Workers and one Engagement / Duty Worker, to ensure best practice in service delivery to residents of the project.
• To liaise and build relationships with private sector landlords to offer enhanced move on opportunities as well as with specialist agencies to provide workshops and drop-in services at the project for the residents at Newman Street.

General responsibilities

• In conjunction with the Head of Housing and Progression to continuously develop the role to ensure that all tasks are being undertaken in an effective and appropriate manner which meets the strategic aims and objectives of The Passage.
• To participate in internal/external meetings as required, attend training events, conferences and other functions as necessary.
• To participate in regular supervision and annual appraisal, and help in identifying your own job-related development and training needs.
• To ensure that all The Passage policies and procedures are being adhered to, particularly those relating to Code of Practice and Confidentiality.
• To contribute to the effective implementation of The Passage’s Diversity and Equality Policy as it affects both The Passage and its work with vulnerable adults.
• To at all times undertake your role in a professional manner maintaining a high quality standard of work, and to always work in accordance with the aims, values and ethos of The Passage.

Desired experience

• Experience of managing and developing a floating support service in a residential setting in a psychologically informed way.
• Experience of working collaboratively with voluntary, statutory and private sector agencies.
• Experience of supporting a team working with residents with complex support needsand housing issues.
• Experience of developing systems and working protocols.
• Experience of managing and supporting a team to achieve strong and effective relationships with others to achieve organisational and commissioning key performance indicators.
• Experience of working across different sites.

Desired knowledge

• An awareness of the issues that face street homeless and vulnerable people.
• An excellent working knowledge of the main housing legislation, Homelessness Reduction Act, and housing options (including the private rented sector) relating to homeless and vulnerably housed people.
• Knowledge and understanding the issues facing people through the resettlement and

tenancy sustainment process.

• Knowledge of the skills and attitudes needed to support residents within a psychologically informed framework.
• A working knowledge of the main welfare benefits in the UK.
• A working knowledge of health and safety responsibilities in a residential setting.
