Role Overview:
This is a team role covering, OPTO Build and Test, Encapsulation, End of Line, Casing Final Inspection and Packing.
The role includes the day to day maintenance and cleanliness of the associated equipment. At times there may be a need to undertake other tasks that may be required to meet the Company’s requirements.

Work Environment:

Key Responsibilities:
  • The Manufacture and Test (as required) of sub-assemblies, OPTO’s and Cables etc
  • The preparation of encapsulated assemblies as required by the Company’s production schedule.
  • Conventional hand assembly of cases and other small parts.
  • End of Line completion of products and Packing
  • Inspection of the finished sub-assemblies to ensure they meet specification and fit for production purposes.
  • The updating of computer records and paperwork systems where needed.
  • The tidiness and good working order of the Manufacturing department.
  • To ensure all machinery is kept clean and maintained in good working order, any machinery issues to be escalated immediately.
  • Adhere to all the safety rules defined for the Work Area.
  • The role demands the ability to adhere to set procedures as defines by the Team Leader/Manager.
  • The preparation and use of moulds.
  • Operating a resin dispensing machine, Vacuum chamber and oven.


Critical Competencies for Success:
  • Basic inspection of the manufactured part. Some previous experience in electronics desirable.
  • Conventional hand assembly as required, previous soldering experience desirable.
  • A working understanding of a manufacturing environment
  • Literacy and numeracy in order to understand procedures and recognize parts.
  • PC literate.
  • Driving Licence (Desirable)
  • Flexible and self-motivated attitude towards work
  • To be able to work in a small team
  • An attention to detail
  • Good attendance and work ethics
  • Adaptable and open to change
  • Ability to show initiative – anticipates problems
  • Willingness to undertake cross training as required
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate in an environment where chemical based products such as adhesives and resins, solder and cleaning agents are used, some of which generate small levels of fume or dust. (Machine).
  • The ability to lift loads up to 25kg from various locations e.g. floors, racks etc.
  • The ability to stand for prolonged period
