The Role: As Project Manager, you will specifically focus on leading, directing and effectively managing quarry based operational teams to ensure the delivery of exceptional safety, environmental, cost, quality, customer service, financial and operational targets. The emphasis will be on continuous improvement of operational efficiencies and performance over all areas of the project.
* Operating to the highest level of health and safety in line with our Health and Safety Plan, whilst also planning continuous improvement in this area.
* Operating to the highest level of environmental objectives in line with our
environmental management plan, whilst adhering to geotechnical operational parameters, ensuring all statutory legislation and company regulations are adhered to with respect to all operational activities and implementing continuous improvement in this area.
* Achieve optimum production levels in line with programmed production targets at the lowest operation cost. Continually advance operational improvements to improve efficiency within the production function, work with customers regarding delivery and quality issues and ensuring excellent customer service / communications at all times.
* Working with the HME Fleet & Logistics functions to ensure that operational procedures support the achievement of excellent customer service levels at the most efficient operational cost.
* Working with the customer supervisory functions to ensure that operational procedures support the achievement of excellent quality levels at the most efficient operational cost.
* Ensure that the quarry operational teams are adequately resourced, trained and developed whilst maintaining excellent communication throughout the project.
* Work closely with internal & external maintenance teams to ensure that assets are in place and maintained at the highest level to ensure that the business plan can be delivered, coordinate maintenance activities during a normal day and during periods of planned shutdowns to ensure the highest availability KPI are achieved.
* Ensure personnel are effectively managed, developed and become highly competent and valued as part of the operational team, ensure operational control mechanisms are effectively implemented covering all relevant aspects (including Health & Safety, environmental, cost controls).
The Ideal Candidate: Ideally a highly experienced Project Manager with experience of Tier 1 Project Site Environments including - Logistics & Major Earthworks or Rail Experience.
* Diploma in Project Management or Similar Experience
* Experience of large-scale civil engineering, earthworks, tunnel logistics, rail freight, material handling
* Excellent understanding of working within a process plant or a highly regulated Health, Safety and Environmental centric site will also be considered.
* Excellent people & equipment resource operational planning, ability to have a long-term outlook of all operational activities
* Experience of managing both permanent and contract employees.
* You will ideally hold a CSCS Black or Gold Card as well as NEBOSH or IOSH.
* You will be able to demonstrate inspirational felt leadership and the ability develop a team in achieving best in class standards and customer service.
* An effective verbal and written communicator at all levels of an organisation and externally with customers and suppliers.
