Purchasing Coordinator - Maternity Cover

Graphic PLC has been established in Crediton since 1968, with global manufacturing subsidiaries in the USA, Italy, Switzerland and China. We manufacture high performance printed circuit boards (PCB) in low to medium volumes for blue chip companies worldwide. The main markets are military, Aerospace and Telecommunications.
We are currently looking to appoint a Purchasing Coordinator to join our Purchasing Team to cover maternity leave. We are looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic, a good team player and who will support the function with all aspects of the day-to-day running of the office. The office is fast-paced and deadline driven, necessitating a high degree of self-motivation and diligence. This is a varied role with much more to do than administration and filing.
The ideal candidate should be computer literate and will ideally have experience in Administration. Good excel skills would be welcomed. Candidates must be able to work as part of a small team and be willing to get involved in other tasks. The salary for this role is £24,240 to £25,428 per annum, dependent on experience.
Your Day-to-Day:
  • To be aware of and understand the contents of the company systems, procedures and policies.
  • Running daily reports for new stock requirements and exporting to Excel, checking the total material requirements for all materials for both the manufacture of our product and the products required to run the manufacturing facility, including consignment stock and Kanban.
  • Raising and processing purchase orders and tracking the order through to completion.
  • Processing delivery notes and receiving goods onto an electronic stock control system.
  • Contacting suppliers to obtain quotes & lead times for materials, whilst negotiating best price at all times.
  • Liaising with the Sales Department with regards to material lead-times and availability
  • Monthly stock counts and consignment returns to suppliers.
  • Reconciling purchase orders and invoices.
  • Processing invoices, making sure they are entered correctly and accurately.
  • General administration as required, including filing and archiving of invoices and purchase orders.
  • Problem solving and filing gaps in the supply chain

Other desirable requirements: Excellent computer skills (Excel). Previous hands-on purchasing experience
This role will be on a fixed term contract for up to 12 months.
