Sales and Order Book Assistant

Job Role: Sales and Order book Assistant – Maternity Cover
Start Date: As soon as possible – End date 30th May 2025
Based: Onsite role based in Birmingham B10 0QQ
Pay: £13.00 per hour (£25,000 full equivalent)
Standard Hours: 37 hours per week.
Preferred hours: Mon-Thurs 08:00 – 16:30, Fri 08:00 – 13:00.
Pension contribution 4.0% employee contributions and 5.5% Employer contributions.
Death in Service.
Hours and Pay can be negotiated depending on skill set experience. Self-employed contractor discussions are also welcome.

Job Role:
The Sales Assistant will work alongside the Production Planner and Logistics Assistant to manage order fulfilment.
· Accurate data entry – putting customer orders onto our MRP system.
· Following Production Guidelines to ensure that orders are entered onto the order book.
· Reporting abnormal orders to the Production Planner.
· Sense checking lead times.
· Checking stock levels, planned stock levels, and committed future stock.
· Track order progress – check if orders are on time to achieve their scheduled despatch date.
· Information sharing between the Production Planner, Logistics Assistant, and other senior team members.
· Inputting data onto Customer online portals
Desirable Skills:
A successful applicant should have a selection of the following skills:
· Comfortable using Excel, Outlook, and other Office software.
· Attention to detail, and ability to spot errors in data, particularly numerical.
· Organised and tidy in your work.
· Good problem solver, able to use the information available to them to make informed decisions.
· A Pro-Active approach.
· Customer service – building strong professional relationships with customers.
· Excellent Communication skills and a can-do attitude are essential.
