Overview
We are seeking a skilled carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in carpentry and woodworking, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating bespoke wooden items. Beyond this there will be many other practical tasks as we grow this business.
This role would ideally suit a retired but fit individual who is looking to keep active and contribute their expertise.
You will be expected to work alone for the majority of the time.
The reason for the large range in hours per week is solely to suit the correct candidate, there is plenty of work that needs doing. It may be if someone with significant experience only wishes to do 10 hours a week we will recruit a second person. We have capped at 30 hours to be open and transparent this is a part time role and we will require some flexibility in hours/days to suit projects.
Duties
- Assemble weird and wonderful wooden creations.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and machinery to cut, shape, and finish wood
- Perform joinery work such as dovetail joints and mortise and tenon joints
- Paint, stain, or varnish finished products
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Woodworker or Carpenter
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery
- Knowledge of joinery techniques
- Ability to read and interpret plans and technical drawings
- Familiarity with painting and finishing techniques for wood products
We are a small but wonderful team who work hard to develop and make high end products. there is lots of experimentation and development.
This business is part of a larger group of companies and we often lend them a hand to manufacture items to be used in the events and exhibition industry.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
