Job description
SAPUK are asking for extra volunteers to help with their support services which operates 6am - 11pm daily.
SAPUK offer an instant messaging support line via meta and there is also an option to speak anonymously via the website. We operate these all via one single app, downloadable on all smart devices for free.
Over the years as a team, they have supported numerous people and helped them overcome their thoughts of distress and to guide them away from the dark to enable them to continue to the best of their ability.
Each volunteer is a compassionate asset of a team of volunteers who work incredibly well together and strive to continue with support.
Throughout your time at SAPUK, they will invite you to conduct numerous courses and training that will enhance your skills as a volunteer, as well as gaining invaluable experience you will also be welcomed onto a supportive team
As a volunteer we require 6 hours per week, which is one shift per week, or can be split into to 3 hour shifts throughout the week, depending on your circumstances SAPUK can and will work around your normal day to day life, where possible.
Shift Patterns:
o 6am - 12pm - / 6am - 9am + 9am - 12pm
o 12pm - 6pm - / 12pm - 3pm + 3pm - 6pm
o 6pm - 11pm - / 6pm - 9pm + 9pm - 11pm

• MUST BE BASED IN THE UK - NO OVERSEAS APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED
• Must have keen eye for detail
• Must have excellent communication skill
• Strong English language skills

If successful a team member will be in contact with you and you will be asked to fill out an application form and a confidentiality form, and to provide email addresses for 2 references that we can contact on your behalf. Once the relevant forms are completed and we have received at least 1 work related reference back we will arrange a call with one of our managers to discuss next steps and give full information on the role, before providing a small training video for you to complete online. Then you will be added to our groups and page, before you begin shadowing - where you will watch some of our more experienced volunteers and be able to ask any questions you may have before replying to chats yourself. - We usually ask for between 9 - 18 hours of shadowing person and confidence dependant.
Please note we ask for a minimum of 6 hours per week, and two references are required(1 work related and other can be work or education, we CANNOT accept character references). If you are successful, you will be welcomed into a very selfless caring family. MUST BE BASED IN THE UK
Please note: This role is not for everyone as it can be of a distressing nature; within the team we have an incredible support network and you are able to contact any team member if required.

Must be 18 or over
Flexible, can work around you in accordance with the above shifts(6 hours minimum per week)
Must have Whats App and Facebook - or willing to get before starting
Must have a working email address and phone number linked to Whats App
Must be willing to download an additional app and be added to several Whats App groups (These are so you are able too communicate with SAP team members and support individuals)
