Values and vision
The school has adopted the “Five Rs” as its key values, expecting its pupils to strive to be respectful, reflective, responsible, resilient and resourceful.
Respect is demonstrated by courteous, helpful and supportive behaviour to others, while reflectiveness includes pupils learning to make connections between what they are learning and other areas of life. An ability to be responsible is about a self-awareness about learning and taking ownership of their own learning, while resilience is shown by recognising and managing their emotions and keeping learning while under stress. Resourcefulness is exhibited through a genuine curiosity about learning and an ability to use learning resources independently.
Ofsted
“The 5Rs provide all in the school community with a common language when discussing pupils and their attitudes to learning and teaching. This means that it is easy for pupils to understand what they have done well and what they need to improve.”
