Job overview
Newhouse Academy are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, talented, highly motivated and strong classroom Teacher of IT for January 2025.
You will be part of a collaborative department that is experienced and focused on helping students achieve. Within this role there is an opportunity for internal professional development to teach Computer Science.
We are looking for a great practitioner who:
As part of our drive to increase wellbeing, teaching staff receive a higher than 10% non teaching time on their timetable. There is dedicated CPD time each week, staff are then given time to work on implementing this into their lessons. We have two staff leading wellbeing for the Academy, running initiatives such as the Wellbeing cafe, staff breakfasts and earlier finish times.
It has been widely published that the Df E indicate that for September 2025 pay decisions, performance related pay will not be part of the School Teachers Pay and Conditions. Hollingworth Learning trust met with leaders to review whether we would like to implement this sooner and our view as a school and a trust was that we would like to implement this for September 2024, rather than wait an additional academic year.
"Hollingworth Learning Trust recognise and value the contribution of all of our staff and feel that all staff's efforts should be rewarded in order to have a positive impact on teaching and learning."
If you have a strong character, energy, credibility and the ability to inspire, we’d love you to hear from you.
With academy values of Aspiration, Integrity and Respect, we are embedding an ‘Our People’ culture through everything we do and our high expectations of both students and staff are bearing fruit.
We believe in providing a high quality education for students and are committed to the continuous professional development of staff.
‘Doing the right thing for our people!’
In return, we offer:
We actively welcome visits and would be delighted to show you around our Academy, so you can fully appreciate our learning environment and meet our team. Your visit would include a tour of the new school building which opened this month, housing Science, DT, Music, PE and Aspire our SEN area. If you would like to arrange a visit, please email Rebekah Duffy on
