Independent Futures is part of the Fairfield's Group, The Fairfield's Group is an organisation providing high quality support and care to children and young people who reside with us in our children's homes and in our supported accommodation provisions.
Independent Futures is an Ofsted registered 16+ supported accommodation service , we currently have group accommodation in the Teesside area and are looking to expand the service in the Manchester area to provide support to young people aged 16 and over who will benefit from the caring support provided by support team members and led by the team leader.
We are seeking motivated, committed and compassionate Team Leader who will share and support our ambitions to enable young people to achieve success.
Candidates who have previously worked as a deputy children's home manager will find this role particularly suits their skills set as will Children's home managers who do not wish to be registered with Ofsted but who enjoy being able to shape the support that young people receive.
Previous expereince of working in a regulated service is essential.

Models of care and intervention are led by a clear understanding of the complex emotional and behavioural needs of children and young people in our homes.
There will be a shared understanding between Fairfields House staff and teams, Children’s Social Work Services and partner agencies (i.e.. Health, Education, The Police) regarding roles and responsibilities. Collaborative and supportive working relationships will be developed and established based on a shared approach and understanding of the care planning for young people and the statutory responsibilities of Social Work Teams, Children’s Homes and Post 16 Supported Accommodation.
We will ensure we know our children and young people well and understand their individual difficulties and risks they face. We will work with our young people and other professionals involved in theirs and their family’s life to promote positive and safe relationships. We will have high aspirations and ambition for our young people’s futures, and this will be reflected in our plans and our relationships with them. We will know when we are making a positive difference, but also understand what we need to do differently when our plans do not seem to achieve the desired outcome.
About the Position:
We are looking for a 16+ Team leader to lead a team of Support workers to ensure the home operates within the Supported Accommodation Regulation 2023.
The Team Leader has primary responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home, staff induction and development and implementing appropriate support, therapeutic, clinical and risk management programmes and plans. The Team leader has overall management responsibility for the home.
The 16+ Team Leader will work in partnership with the Registered Service Manager to model best practice and lead on interventions to train and develop others as required. You will be part of an aspirational culture and approach to improve and develop the Young People’s 16+ Supported Accommodation Service to achieve its vision of providing high quality support to young people and their families as stated in the Supported Accommodation Statement of Purpose.
Under the direct supervision and guidance of the Registered Service Manager lead and manage the provision of a 16+ support service for young people that meets the Supported Accommodation Regulations and Practice Standards (2023), Fairfield House and the Supported Accommodation’s internal policies, procedures and guidance. You will support the Supported Accommodation Residential Service to achieve best outcomes for young people.
