This is a junior trainee position working with the Maintenance Manager and his assistant.
If you have practical skills and happy to work on inside as well as outside on maintenance projects throughout the year, then we would like to hear from you.
We are looking to train the right candidate, so no experience is necessary.
You will be responsible for assisting with general caretaking and maintenance of the Hotel and Spa, including hotel buildings, bedrooms, toilets, restaurant, main guest areas and extensive grounds.
You will learn aspects of: Painting/decorating, general repairs, plumbing, electrical as well as grounds keeping / gardening.
Work is usually prioritised on a daily basis, as well as adhering to scheduled planned maintenance throughout the year. The Head of Maintenance will delegate, train and supervise your workload.
Due to the hotel being operational 24/7 the maintenance team need to react quickly and efficiently in order to resolve any urgent repairs or issues, in order to provide a positive hotel guest experience.
It would be advantageous for you to demonstrate the following capabilities:-

• Have a ‘can do’ positive attitude, willing to learn and good team working ethic.
• Good timekeeping, reliable.
• Practical skills.
• Able to drive – due to the hotel location.

Hours: 40 hours per week (5 out of 7 days)
