Transfer Fellow

Are you looking for a unique job opportunity that allows you to combine working with the Isle of Man Air Ambulance Service on patient air transfers with a role in anaesthesia at Noble's Hospital?
This post is a limited term appointment for 6 months.
About the role
We are looking for a driven and committed Transfer Fellow to join our friendly team here at Noble's Hospital in the Isle of Man. The focus of the post is working in the Isle of Man Air Ambulance Service, where we do almost 600 transfers per year.
You will play a key role during the summer months, where we see major motorcycle road racing events such as TT Fortnight, Southern 100 and the Manx Grand Prix. These events lead to a significant number of high energy, complex major trauma patients. We transfer major trauma patients from our Emergency Department at Noble’s Hospital to the major trauma centre at Aintree Hospital in Liverpool.

Subject to meeting eligibility criteria, the IOM Public Service offers two pension arrangements the Isle of Man Government Unified Scheme 2011or the Isle of Man Government Defined Contribution (DC) Arrangement.
Our on-site education and training centre, Keyll Darree, comprises a lecture theatre, well stocked medical library, training facilities and a state of the art simulation lab which is operated by trained simulation practitioners.
We recognise the need for all medical staff on the Island to maintain connections with medicine in the United Kingdom and encourage links with other units, as well as providing study leave with pay and expenses to attend approved conferences and workshops.

Access to the Learning, Education and Development training facility, which is exclusively for Public Service employees, to keep on top of your continuous professional development.
