Job summary:
In this role you will oversee the de-briefing of all day shift drivers who return to the depot after their shift, including checking paperwork is filled in, all issued items are returned and data is entered into the relevant spreadsheets. You will also be the first point of contact for night shift drivers at the start of their shift to ensure they have all relevant paperwork and items to complete their shift. The key skill in this role is communication with returning drivers, ensuring specific questions are asked and specific tasks have been carried out. You will also work for the Late Shift Supervisor to support in any other office functions that are required.
Major Duties and responsibilities
- Act as first point of contact between the driver and the office operation when a driver returns to site. You’ll have a specific set of questions to ask and several items to ensure are returned (such as paperwork, keys, phone etc.)
- Responsible for checking driver paperwork at the point of their return, then entering details into a spreadsheet
- Ensuring all other administration tasks such as scanning and uploading paperwork are completed as required
- Ensure all IT based tasks to be completed at specific times such as system imports & exports and label printing
- Responsible for putting together drivers’ manifests and paperwork for the following day once the plan is completed each day
- Support the Late Shift Supervisor with any required tasks
- Assist in supporting with day-to-day driver, warehouse and customer queries and issues, including answering the phone, emails and system messages
- Follow the night shift plan to explain to night shift drivers what their roles are for the day and ensure they have the relevant paperwork and equipment to do so
- Ensure compliance to all legislation for Health & Safety is upheld
- Any other Adhoc duties as required
- Experience working in a transport operation and knowledge of the logistics industry
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changes to meet the demands placed on Miniclipper by our customers

- Experience of with various IT systems and a quick learner to be able to learn new systems
- Previous administrative and transport experience is preferred
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages e.g. Outlook, Excel & Word is essential
- Adaptable IT skills
- Experience in using TMS systems is preferrable although training will be given
- Ability to establish positive relationships of trust and credibility with colleagues and drivers
- Completes work accurately, on time
- Courteous, responsive and professional with others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong organisational skills are essential
- Ability and willingness to adapt to changing/new duties as required
- Encourages innovation and progressive ways in the workplace
