This is a FT M-F position. 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday

Essential Functions:

Abstracts pertinent information from patient records
Queries physicians when code assignments are not straightforward or documentation in the record is inadequate or unclear for coding purposes
Keeps abreast of coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements
Abides by the Standards of Ethical Coding as set forth by the AHIMA

Requirements:

Two years work-related coding experience
Certification by the American Health Information Management Association of America Association Professional Coders
