DBE Utility Services (a division of UU) is an underground utilities company with its main headquarters located in Palm Beach County, FL and satellite office in Jacksonville, FL. About The Role
As a Business Development Manager, you will be at the forefront of driving growth in the water and sewer utility sector with major emphasis on large scale horizontal directional drilling. Your strategic insights will help shape the direction of our company, while your tactical execution will ensure success in meeting client needs. This role is pivotal in expanding our presence, fostering strong client relationships, and leading initiatives that align with United Utility’s values. Your ability to develop business in support of our unit-based contracts will have a direct impact on both our reputation and revenue.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the water and sewer utility market.
  • Build and nurture long-term client relationships by understanding their project needs and aligning them with our services.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create proposals and solutions that meet client specifications.
  • Develop and execute strategic growth plans for market expansion.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitors to anticipate market shifts.
  • Represent United Utility at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.

Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within the utility or infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and manage key accounts.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on market trends and data-driven decision making.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Key Nice-To-Haves
  • MBA or other relevant graduate degree.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar.
  • Experience in the water and sewer utility industry.
  • Understanding of unit-based contracts and utility operations.

Key Info
Must be able to travel. Overnight travel may be required. Clean Background, Drug Test, and MVR. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time, talk, or hear. The employee must also demonstrate fine motor, hand, and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. Additionally, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with arms.
