PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB:
Manages the procurement and scheduling of raw materials and purchased parts necessary to support the production of finished goods. Develop and maintain relationships with designated suppliers.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Issue purchase orders and schedule delivery of parts and raw materials consistent with in-process inventory objectives and production schedules. Expedite or delay deliveries as required.
- Establish and maintain accurate data in SAP – PIR, source lists, quota arrangement, ERP data pertaining to suppliers, etc.
- Act as liaison between suppliers and internal groups (Accounts Payable, Quality, Production, Engineering, etc)
- Evaluate existing suppliers through quarterly business review meetings
- Support new product development and start-ups
- Resolves goods receipts transaction discrepancies
- Analyze reports to ensure inventory and cost variance goals are being met
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, supply chain, or related field
- CPSM and/or CPIM, desirable
- Prefer 2 years of related work experience
- Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Demonstrated solid analytical skills. Detail oriented and accurate.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment and ability to balance multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of personnel.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.
- SAP knowledge a preferred
