Job Description:

Exciting opportunity at MSK: Join our team as a Clinical Research Coordinator, Immigrant Health and Cancer Disparities! We’re looking for a dynamic clinical research professional to work on research studies designed to provide appropriate medical interpreting services for Spanish-speaking cancer patients and survivors; therefore, we are seeking candidates with an interest in language access to cancer care, medical interpreting, and translation.

Role Overview:

Responsible for data collection including using appropriate methodologies to collect human subject information for a research project, database and/or protocol (clinical trial) by reviewing patient charts, existing databases, and other sources within a specified timeframe.
Obtain informed consent and administer assessment batteries.
Interact with team members and individuals across MSK regarding data input.
Generate data reports and deliver to all necessary parties on the progress.
Ensure that all appropriate Institutional, State, and Federal regulations are followed throughout the research project, database or protocol, and that research protocols are approved by Institutional Review Board and all regulatory documentation is completed.
Provide clerical and administrative support, such as filing and scheduling meetings and appointments as needed.

Key Qualifications:

Fluency in Spanish, written and spoken. Prefernce will be given to candidates who are also fluent in Mandarin.
A genuine interest in working in health disparities research.
Medical interpreting experience or training a plus.
EPIC knowledge is a plus.

Additional Information:

Location: NYC
Schedule: Hybrid, on average 4 days per week on site, Monday to Friday
Reporting to the Clinical Research Supervisor
Commitment for at least 2 years

Pay Range: $25.65 - $38.42

Learn more about the team: For over 20 years, the Immigrant Health and Cancer Disparities (IHCD) Service has worked to identify and eliminate disparities in cancer treatment among immigrants. Housed at MSKCC since 2011, the IHCD Service offers a wide range of programs for patients, healthcare professionals, and patient advocates. We address gaps in healthcare at the local, national, and global levels. Our community-based programs provide a gateway to health education and services for immigrants and other medically underserved groups in New York City and beyond. Through our research initiatives, we continually assess the impact of our programs and to increase the representation of underrepresented groups in clinical trials.
