Duties

• Provide project leadership using expert knowledge in concepts, principles, and practices in areas such as environmental and climate adaptation, hazard planning, risk reduction and mitigation, resilience planning and management to manage multiple projects, cooperative agreements and grants for a nationwide program. Facilitate plans with partners and technical leads for tools, environmental data, and information designed for coastal resource management.
• Plan, coordinate, and lead program officers and project team members in the development and maintenance of effective relationships with coastal management partners. Serve and lead a team of program officers to monitor and administer grants and cooperative agreements with scientific and technical components. Problem-solve, coordinate and communicate to ensure consistency in decision-making. Work with grant recipients to ensure timely and accurate submission of award documentation.
• Develop, coordinate, and deliver innovative science, technology, and geospatial products and services to the coastal management community. Develop or refine processes to manage, review, and provide feedback on environmental adaptation and hazard mitigation projects, including performance measures reporting.
• Make recommendations to agency management, other scientists/professionals, community partners and stakeholders on process improvements. Provide and disseminate information and advice to various state, regional, and national management authorities, professional, scientific, and environmental organizations through reports, presentations, briefings, and other outreach activities.
