The Floral Procurement Specialist at Stem Floral Design will assist our team by ordering weekly flower orders and everyday supplies for upcoming events. This role is pivotal in creating efficient and organized preparation for our team as well as memorable events for our clients and is responsible for the following skills and activities across weddings, showers, corporate parties, and other special events:
Mandatory Skills & Job Requirements
· Must have Floral Design Experience!!
· Must pass pre-employment drug test
· Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent
· Authorization to work in the United States of America
· Ability to read and write fluently in the English language
· Possession of a driver’s license valid within the State of Michigan
· Ability to lift forty (40) pounds and climb up and down ladders
General Duties & Job Requirements
· Creating gameplans for weekly orders for our events
· Creating purchase orders for specific suppliers for flowers and hard good orders
· Contact suppliers at the beginning of the week to go over orders to note when product is coming or any issues that may arise
· Checking in all flowers and hard goods from suppliers as they come in with their printed orders to ensure everything comes in correctly
· Cross checking and comparing our printed orders with suppliers to ensure everything comes in correctly
· Checking daily to ensure flowers and supplies are coming in from our vendors by calling in the morning to go over what is coming and what may be missing
· Making strategic decisions and working with our event designers to substitute or order more if issues arise with a particular item
· Keeping the cooler organized and clean with sweeping/emptying buckets/discarding of old product to make space for new
· Refreshing the old cart with new water, fresh cut on all flowers, and taking out old product weekly to keep area cleaned and organized
· Encouraging our designers to use product from the old cart if quality is good and goes with events coming up
· Creative consideration of floral and supplies based on team needs
· Checking and restocking everyday product to ensure we don’t run out. This includes, oasis, dishes, taper, pins, etc.
· Onsite staging/set up/designing to support events
· Creative design and assembly of bouquets, centerpieces, décor, and other arrangements
· Support take-down of events, return of inventory, and warehouse/workshop cleanup/organization as required
· Ability to take input from clients and crew and communicate in a respectful and collaborative manner
· Willingness to learn a variety of problem-solving issues and matters with the team
· Ability to take technical direction and communicate in a respectful and collaborative manner
· Support in the development of the most efficient organization with inventory and hard goods
· Other duties and job functions/requirements as assigned
