With the expanding need for comprehensive infrastructure repair in the US, Southern Road & Bridge (SRB) has developed a team of experts to offer the safest, high-quality solutions for clients. Project diversification allows SRB the ability to plan and execute complex jobs that less-experienced contractors. In so doing, SRB develops turnkey solutions specific to meet and exceed client expectations.
Over the past twelve years, SRB has continued to expand self-performed trades in an effort to become more autonomous with expanded capabilities. The wide range of trades self-performed allows SRB to be more competitive and responsive to client needs.
General Duties of a Iron Worker:

Bolting up and snapping bolts (additional safety training required)
Laying deck – Sloped.
Rivet busting
Fitting
Small tool training: torches, deck, saw, welders, drills
Welder -flat, vertical and overhead
Spread and weld (bolt) bridging – all types.
Install safety cable and perimeter protection.
Forklift training.
Crane hand signals (review).
Shake out material
Installing stanchions, rat lines on beams before erecting.
Rigger (ground man) - safety/equipment
Sequencing of steel erection
Fitting
Needle scaling, Roto peening
Must be able to read and understand blueprints
Adheres to Safety and quality programs
Completes work in the highest company quality manner and according to QA/QC specifications
Be self-motivated and team player
Other Duties as Assigned

Job Skills & Qualifications/Education Requirements:

1 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation and willingness to travel to jobsites.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
Must be able to pass DOT physicals

SRB has served the infrastructure needs of the Southeastern United States and beyond since 2012, paving roadways and restoring bridges to strengthen and stabilize the existing infrastructure, keeping us all safely connected while restoring our nation’s infrastructure.
Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience and ability to travel
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
