**This is a term-limited position. Employment is anticipated to last one (1) year, contingent upon funding.The selected individual will be required to sign a waiver of retention rights which infers no rights to retain a state-classified position beyond the assignment. Description of Job
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Position provides technical support in the area of CO-Jobs/Neo Gov, Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, Word, and Power Point, in managing applicant information;
- Position obtains and/or captures information during the Selection and Job Evaluation process and reports on the status of various stages while supporting HR Analysts;
- Recommends improvements and changes to system processes to ensure quality control and staff efficiency;
- Responsible for preparing examination files, to include drafting/copying information, verifying readability of documents, adding section dividers, and filing documents into the correct sections;

Position administers assessments and comparative analysis to include scheduling the room, sending notices, typing rosters, gathering supplies, preparing materials for panel assessment devices, providing instructions, managing the panels and boards, scanning, updating COJobs/ Neo Gov, briefing candidates for panel assessments, providing breakdown letters for candidates, generating required CO-Jobs/Neo Gov
reports and merging new scores to current list; - Appropriately communicates information to candidates/potential candidates;
- Position coordinates the personal services contracts by logging, tracking, and distributes accordingly ensuring reviews are completed;
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
Three (3) years of *technical or **high level clerical experience. (This work experience must be clearly described, in your own words, in the work history section of your application to meet this requirement.) Any work experience less than full time will be prorated.
- Technical work is defined as skilled work in the practical application of specialized techniques, procedures, practices, or methods in order to accomplish tasks. The specialized work is a direct extension of a professional field which requires an understanding of that field, the nature of the work requires that it revert to a professional if not performed by a technician.
**High Level clerical experience includes the following: document creation, word processing; create and revise office procedures; compiling and formatting the content for program materials such as annual reports and newsletters; screening documents and supporting information to determine eligibility, authenticity, or identity; accounting for the unit's allotted funds by authorizing operating expenditures.
College or university school course work in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, Business Administration or a related field may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. (You must submit a copy of your unofficial college transcript with your name, college name, degree and date conferred in order to receive credit.)

Preferred Qualifications: (Candidates may receive higher ratings for possessing experience in the following preferred qualification criteria)
- High level clerical or technical work experience with the State of Colorado.
- Advanced knowledge and proven work experience in Google Applications (Drive, Sheets, Docs, and Forms) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point).
- Experience completing multiple projects simultaneously with on-going, frequent, deadlines.
- Progressive experience working in a fast-paced customer-oriented environment with a focus on delivering a high level of customer service.
- Proven experience monitoring work, checking for errors, and verifying accuracy.
- Knowledge and experience researching and compiling statistics, data measurements and preparing reliable reports in a logical and concise format.
- Process improvement experience - analyze processes, identify gaps and recommend areas for improvement.

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States to be appointed to this position. CDOC uses e-Verify, an Internet-based system, to confirm the eligibility of all newly hired employees to work in the United States. CDOC does not sponsor non-residents of the United States.

Successfully pass all modules of the Colorado Department of Corrections Basic Training, to include English reading comprehension, relevant competency assessments and written/practical exams in Defensive Tactics;
-
Possess the physical ability to successfully complete Defensive Tactics;
-
Lift arms above head and kick as high as own waist;
-
Stabilize another person to accomplish a controlled take down;
-
Use arms, palms of hands, shins, and feet to deliver blows;
-
Withstand impact (slow speed or with a safety bag) on own body from strikes/blows;
-
Swing a baton in a striking technique;
-
Rotate body 90 degrees with feet planted for striking with foot or using a defensive tactic;
-
Get down on one or both knees and up again with multiple repetitions;
-

Will be exposed to Oleoresin Capsicum during Basic Training and will be exposed while on assignment;
-
Must be able to see and hear in order to observe, address and respond to potential breaches in safety and security;
-
Seize, hold, control or subdue violent or assaultive persons and defend oneself or others to prevent injury;
-
Demonstrate body agility, strength of all four limbs and the ability to walk and climb stairs consistently;
-
Work in situations involving assaultive behavior, physical control of another person and/or restraint situations;
-
Deal with individuals with a range of moods and behaviors, utilizing tactfulness and a congenial, personable manner;
-
Work with people of the opposite sex, diverse racial ethnic groups, mentally ill and emotionally disturbed offenders;
-
Communicate by talking, listening and/or signaling people to convey or exchange information, assignments;
-
Work in an environment with fluctuating noise and temperature (hot and cold) which may include working outdoors in inclement weather and/or concrete floor/wall work settings;
-
Willing and able to travel;
-
Willing and able to work various shifts, days, afternoons, graveyards (nights) which includes a rotating shift schedule;
-
TB (tuberculosis) screening is required of all new employees upon hire;
-
Employees may be required to submit to regular serial testing and reporting for COVID-19.
Successful completion of a background investigation is required. Should applicant’s background reveal criminal charges, it shall be the responsibility of the applicant to provide the Department of Corrections with written/official disposition of any charges.
