PUBLIC UTILITIES REGULATORY ANALYST I

Under general direction of the Program and Project Supervisor of the Compliance Assurance Division, Audits and Standards Branch of the Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety, the incumbent serves as a regulatory analyst and liaison for the Division on internal and external customer matters.
The Compliance Assurance Division is responsible for assessing electrical corporations’ performance in meeting the goals, objectives, and targets of their Wildfire Mitigation Plans, as well as ensuring that each electrical corporation is reducing its risk of igniting a catastrophic wildfire. To do this, the Division reviews documents, analyzes data, performs audits, conducts field inspections, and shares its findings with the electrical corporations and the public. Energy Safety seeks individuals who enjoy fast-paced and rewarding work.
This position is eligible for telework 5 days a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office 2 days per week beginning in January 2025. A teleworker is considered Remote-centered if they work 50% or more of their time from an alternate work location. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

- Occasional travel may be required. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle.

Energy Safety will utilize a Hybrid Remote/In-person approach enabling staff to telework, when approved by management.
- Energy Safety will require in-office attendance from staff two days per week beginning in January 2025.

Energy Safety will use shared workspaces for most staff (hoteling stations) when required to work in the office.
