A Day in the Life
As a Credit Collection Clerk for the refunds team, you will play a vital role within our team, managing responsibilities such as account reconciliation and processing refunds. This position requires maintaining a professional company image through both written and verbal communication.

In this role, you will support the PFS Management team by promptly addressing and resolving inquiries related to refunds. You will be responsible for problem-solving, identifying patterns and trends, and effectively communicating issues that impact both the team and the business. Your role involves participating in team meetings, where you will provide valuable ideas and suggestions to enhance processes, improve the quality of account interactions, and reduce unnecessary touches. Additionally, you will engage in various initiatives and seek opportunities to share your insights and contribute to ongoing improvements.

  • Responsible for handling high volume of credit accounts requiring resolution and reconciliation to resolve a credit balance
  • Handles written and verbal inquiries to payors to analyze and problem solve account issues to full resolution.
  • Escalates complex accounts as necessary to the appropriate department or supervisor.
  • Assists as assigned with correspondence, e-mails, voicemails, write-offs, and other projects as the needed.
  • Maintains work view at inflow to ensure prompt account resolution to minimize workload.
  • Meets standard of 100% or higher of productivity goal and maintain an average quality score of 2.80 or above.
  • Increases quality account touches to reduce added unnecessary redundancies.
  • Collaborates with unit Leadership and departments across the revenue cycle to ensure prompt resolution to credit accounts
  • Collaborates with the peers and leadership on assigned projects as needed
  • Assists with training new employees and create training material as needed.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience supporting financial services

Nice to Have
  • Prior healthcare experience on Centricity GE system and SAP
  • Working in a medical group performing collection activities, healthcare facility, Medical Group
  • Extensive related knowledge with Government Payors (Medicare / Medicaid), processing of insurance claims and reading EOB’s (explanation of benefits)
  • Understands Explanation of Benefits (EOB), Assignments of Benefits (AOB), Coordination of Benefits (COB).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and diplomatically with internal and external customer both in person and via email or written correspondence.
  • Ability to be flexible with working hours given adequate notice.
  • Ability to accept and carry out oral and written instructions accurately

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$38,000.00 - $57,000.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
