We seek a skilled Database Administrator to join our growing IT and Systems team at Discova. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing, optimizing, and maintaining complex database systems.
Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing robust database solutions, ensuring data integrity and security and providing technical support to our users. You have a strong understanding of database management concepts, excellent problem-solving skills, and, most importantly, your commitment to delivering exceptional results, which we value most in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain high-availability database systems according to the Discova business needs.
  

• Ensure data integrity, security, and optimal performance.
  

• Collaborate with development teams on database optimization and architecture.
  

• Manage Azure SQL databases and provide proactive support, including troubleshooting.
  

• Integrate APIs to enhance system capabilities.
  

• Monitor database performance and implement improvements.
  

• Stay updated on database technologies and trends.
  

• Analyse business processes and develop technical solutions.
  

• Work collaboratively with Discova’s IT and Systems department to build, test, and maintain the applicable software.
  

• Respond to incidents and troubleshoot production issues effectively and efficiently.
  

• Provide, gather and develop technical support, solutions, requirements and implementation plans
  

• Enhance development, testing, and release processes.
  

About You

The Essentials

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field with 2+ years of Microsoft Azure database administration experience.
  

• Strong understanding of database structure, SQL, Azure services, data management, and SQL.
  

• Proficiency in SQL, database management systems (SQL Server, My SQL), and database architecture, design, and implementation.
  

• Ability to write scripts (SQL, Power Shell, or similar) for automation and develop, integrate, and implement APIs.
  

• Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  

• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 application configuration, including customization, plug-ins, and custom workflows.
  

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics application architecture and design.
  

The attributes

• Extensive hands-on experience with database standards, end user applications, and data backup, recovery, security, and integrity.
  

• Proficient in English (written and speaking)
  

• Strong knowledge of SQL, database design, documentation, and coding.
  

• Familiarity with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools.
  

• Proficiency in programming languages API.
  

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think algorithmically.
  

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or relevant certification.
  

• Strong time-management skills to meet project deadlines.
  

• Willingness to travel on business as needed.
