BACKGROUND
Child Fund Vietnam is the representative office of Child Fund Australia – an independent international development organisation that works to reduce poverty for children in developing communities.
Child Fund Australia is a member of the Child Fund Alliance – a global network of 11 organisations reaching nearly 36 million children and their family members in 70 countries. Child Fund Australia is a registered charity, a member of the Australian Council for International Development, and fully accredited by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade which manages the Australian Government’s overseas aid program.
Child Fund began working in Vietnam in 1995 and works in partnership to create community and systems change which enables children and young people in vulnerable situations, to assert and realise their rights.
Projects are mainly implemented in the northern Provinces of Bac Kan, Cao Bang and Hoa Binh, where most people are from ethnic minority groups; often the most vulnerable and marginalised sections of the population. Child Fund Vietnam also implements nationwide projects that provide support to both formal and informal systems at national and provincial levels.
Child Fund Vietnam’s projects focus on child rights and child protection, education, health, and wellbeing for children. Child Fund Vietnam prioritises building the resilience of young people, by giving them the opportunity to take part in sports, life skills learning, and supporting their participation in local decision-making processes.


PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Program and Communications Intern is responsible for assisting the Program and Communications teams in Hanoi office in maintaining the smooth operations of all aspects of Child Fund’s Program and Communications activities in Vietnam to ensure that our Program and Communications activities are of a consistently high quality and contributing to the reputation of the Child Fund in Vietnam’s work as a thought leader in its specialist areas of focus: child rights and child protection, education, health and wellbeing for children.


KEY DUTIES
For Program:

• Participate in surveys, assessments, and workshops, following specific assigned tasks;
• Review and support in writing case studies for program team;
• Assist with data collection, monitoring and analysis, including usage of online platforms and/or data collection tools such as Salesforce and KOBO;

For Communication:

• Source, edit/author a variety of media engagement content;
• Design simple communications materials;
• Aid in internal communications activities;

Others (for both departments) :

• Organise and arrange logistics, payment acquittal required for program’s and communications’ functions including meetings, training courses, communication events, visits of relating stakeholders, such as consultants and donors;
Translate program and communications documents;

• Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding or sexual exploitation, abuse or harassment (SEAH) risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding and PSEAH policy and procedures, and conduct yourself consistent with those.
  

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• University qualification in relevant fields, preferring Social Development, or Statistics;
• Good written and spoken English and Vietnamese;
• Good computer literacy and experience with computerised information (including spreadsheets, databases), familiar with software packages under Windows and E-mail;
• Basic knowledge of content writing and design.
  

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Experience in counselling and working with children.
• Experience working with international company/organisation.
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite (especially Ai, Id, Pr)
