Accessibility Lead

The Accessibility Lead will ensure our products deliver the best possible experience for all users, focusing on inclusive design with accessibility at its core. As an expert, you will guide and be the referent of our teams, ensuring that accessibility is embedded in every step of our design and development process.

We design, build, implement, and support our product ourselves. With 26 releases a year and a strong commitment to innovation and quality engineering, our private cloud platform has become the product choice for the very large global organization.

Your challenges and objectives
- Lead accessibility audits and ensure our products comply with global accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.2 AA.
- Act as a subject matter expert in accessibility, guiding design teams to incorporate best practices into UI/UX from the early stages of the design process.
- Provide actionable recommendations to improve the accessibility of existing and new products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote and teach the importance of accessibility across the company.
- Stay up to date with the latest accessibility legislation, trends, tools, and technologies, and ensure Avature adapts to industry and compliance advancements.
- Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits of Avature products and guide the team in resolving any issues identified.
- Actively participate in creating, updating and generating alignment over Avature’s accessibility roadmap.
- Conduct third-party accessibility audits (act as main point of contact for the chosen vendor, process reports, answer detected issues, etc.)
- Collaborate with our designers on making design decisions in alignment with the accessibility standard adopted.
- Review design and ensure accessibility conformance.
- Train and develop our designers into making accessible products.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards like WCAG 2.2 AA and other international guidelines.
- Proven experience conducting or being part of accessibility audits for digital products.
- Extensive experience in digital product design, especially in UI design, with a focus on accessibility.
- Ability to apply accessibility standards, test implementations, and offer solutions based on critical analysis.
- Proactive, curiosity and ownership skills, ensuring that accessibility is always prioritized.
- Advanced oral and written English.
- Leadership experience: Ideally, you’ll have experience leading teams or mentoring others, becoming the technical expert on accessibility.
- Familiarity with web development practices related to accessibility is a strong plus.
