About us
headspace offers a ‘one stop shop’ for young people aged 12 -25 and their families who may be experiencing mental health challenges. Providing an opportunity for young people to receive help early and promote a 'no wrong door' approach to supporting young people and their families through the provision of GPs, counsellors, Alcohol & other Drug workers and Vocational and Educational support.
Alfred Health is the lead agency for this program and offers the opportunity to work in a growing dynamic healthcare environment.
What you’ll be doing
Supported by our clinical and administrative teams, you will manage certain day to day operations of the headspace Primary clinic, including ordering of medical supplies and engaging in service provision coordination, such as triaging and scheduling appointments and follow-ups, or coordinating referrals with secondary health and wellbeing services.
For young people attending the clinics, the position will support effective communication between the school community, headspace, GPs and external organisations to support cohesive health management. In this role, you will directly assist in the provision of sexual, reproductive, vaccine and general health follow up as required for young people accessing the headspace centre(s). It is also expected that you will provide complimentary health promotion and health education activities for young people accessing the centre and in the school setting if required.
About you

Registered Nurse, Division 1 or 2, and registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
Experience in a practice nursing role and/or work in a community health setting, preferably regarding relevant adolescent health issues, such as sexual health, mental health, AOD and other physical health conditions.
Experience in the development and facilitation of health promotion activities is desirable
Appropriate work visa
Current Victorian Driver's License
Current Working with Children Check and be willing to undergo a Background Check
