Why this role matters
The Salvation Army's AOD Social Mission have been awarded a grant to open and operate an AOD Recovery Hub in Wagga Wagga, NSW. The AOD Recovery Hub will meet the needs of people who are affected by AOD, living in rural and regional areas, with services provided for people with co-occurring mental health issues, those who are at risk of homelessness, Aboriginal people, and people in contact with the criminal justice system.
About this role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) Care Coordinator to provide efficient day to day service delivery at the AOD Recovery Hub.
Reporting to the Program & Partnership Coordinator, this is a permanent, full-time position based in Wagga Wagga, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Award Level 4.
You will successfully
  • Provide efficient day to day service delivery through education, interventions, group work, psychosocial interventions assessment, referral and case management work within a recovery-orientated and person-led service environment.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively within the Wagga Recovery Hub Partnership with excellent communication and cross-organisational work.
  • Develop and monitor individual treatment plans and maintain case management documentation, records, reports and data collection, utilising established case planning procedures.
  • Undertake ad hoc duties as requested by the Manager, Program Manager, or Senior Case Worker.
You will have
  • Minimum of Diploma level qualification in a relevant discipline (AOD, Community Services, Case Management).
  • A current NSW Employee Working with Children Check.
  • A NSW Current Driver licence.
  • Completed 4 AOD Skill Set Units (or willing to undertake/complete during employment).
  • Demonstrated the ability to deal with unpredictable situations and behaviours utilising de-escalation techniques.
  • At least two years’ experience in recovery, if applicable.
  • Sound computer literacy.
  • The ability to critically reflect on professional practice and attitudes.
  • The ability to develop and tailor programs to meet participants’ needs.
