We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Property & Casualty branch in Sydney which plays a major part in the success of Hannover Re globally.

We are seeking an Automation and AI Developer to join our team. The role will be a 2-year contract position working directly with our talented IT team.

Key Responsibilities

About the role

As an Automation and AI Developer, you will be working across both Hannover Re (P&C Branch) and Hannover Life Re (Life subsidiary) businesses. This position is responsible for designing, programming, simulating, testing, optimising and implementing automated processes, with a specific focus on automation solutions. This includes automating repetitive tasks and processes, thereby improving efficiency, accuracy, and quality.

This role emphasises expertise in Workflow, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools and advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) frameworks, including GEN AI. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leveraging their proficiency in these technologies to drive innovation, streamline processes, minimise manual interventions and ensure unparalleled precision and compliance for Hannover Re processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identifying automation opportunities, implementing solutions for optimised productivity and accuracy
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective process transformations
• Designing, developing and implementing automation solutions for specific processes, utilising Workflow technologies, RPA tools or AI frameworks such as GEN AI
• Integrating new solutions with existing systems and platforms. Maintaining and troubleshooting new and existing automation systems ensuring optimal functionality and efficiency.
• Conducting rigorous testing, simulations and prototype trials. Identifying and resolving issues, ensuring reliability and efficiency
• Working together with cloud and solution architects, designing and implementing cloud, hybrid and on-prem solutions
• Implementing process security and access controls to ensure privacy and compliance with regulatory standards
• Developing and enforcing automated processes adherence to industry-specific regulations, compliance standards and best practices, maintaining application integrity, quality and consistency.
• Developing automated quality checks and automated corrective actions to maintain the highest level of precision and reliability in processes
• Staying updated with industry regulations and ensuring strict adherence in all automated process-related activities

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

About You:

Experience & Qualifications:

• Advanced level excel skills
• Experience working with Automation and AI
• Well-versed in machine learning methods, neural networks, natural language processing and programming languages including Python, Java, C++ and R
• Undergraduate degree in Information Technology, computer science, AI or related subjects
• Relationship management skills with the ability to liaise at a senior level
• Strategic thinking capabilities
• Excellent organisation skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritise effectively
• Clear and effective communication, both written and verbal
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
