Barista & Cafe Assistant - VISTA Cafe Bar - Part Time Position

Council’s Arts, Culture & Venues Branch is recruiting for the position of Barista & Café Assistant.
This position will require the successful applicant to work 80 hours within a four-week work cycle including some weekend and evening work.
About the Opportunity
The role involves delivering excellent customer service, consistently making high-quality coffee, and preparing, serving, and selling a variety of drinks and food at Vista Cafe Bar in the Mildura Arts Centre.
What you will bring
Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:
- Demonstrated skills and experience in the hospitality industry with a minimum of two years’ experience in the hospitality industry.
- Exceptional barista skills including but not limited to specialty coffee, latte art, grinders, current trends etc.
- Barista and food preparation skills and experience.
- A strong customer service focus and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability in the use of Point-of-Sale systems, MS Office and other software applications.
- Basic knowledge of the local community within the Arts & Culture areas preferred.
- Hold current qualification/certificates in Food Safety and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Victoria
- Hold a current motor vehicle driver’s licence. Hold a current satisfactory police check or willing to obtain one.
The position is classified within Band 4 of Council’s Current Enterprise Agreement starting at $34.69 per hour plus statutory superannuation.
