The Opportunity –
In partnership with the ADF and the Commonwealth, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world.
BDA is looking for a Aerospace Engineer who will join the Chinook Engineering team. In this role you will provide technical support to the BDA maintenance team to support aircraft operations at Oakey and within Australia.
This role is based at Swartz Barracks, Oakey.
As an Aerospace Engineer within BDA, you will

• Perform defect and incident investigation, reporting, direct and root cause identification and provide recommended corrective actions.
• Liaise with the customer and maintenance organisation regarding technical issues.
• Develop, evaluate and manage technical documents.
• Liaise with Boeing Philadelphia Service Engineering regarding technical requests, as required to support defect investigation and corrective action development.
• Contribute to the development of engineering designs, repairs and modifications to the CH-47F aircraft.
• Execute a reliability management process to monitor aircraft and critical systems defects and incidents.
• Prepare reliability reports and briefs and draft technical instructions and orders.
• Support deployed operations within Australia for periods of 4 weeks or more each year

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
Essential:

• Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Avionics. (Member of the Institution of Engineers Australia, desirable).
• Knowledge and experience in system safety and risk management
• Understanding of configuration management principles
• Prior aviation engineering experience under the DASR or equivalent civil aviation regulations
• Strong ability to work in a team environment.
• A high level of verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable:

• CH-47 qualifications and experience.
• Experience in a Program Support Office like environment.
• Experience in aircraft sustainment engineering and technical support
