WHO WE ARE:
Uptown Vibes is an upcoming fun, modern café, bar, and bistro offering a unique dining experience in the heart of Braddon. We are looking for responsible and reliable daytime and nighttime Chefs, cooks and kitchen hands to take the lead and work closely with the owners to bring this establishment to new heights. Uptown Vibes is expected to open by end of November 2024. Please note that we are looking to fill multiple kitchen positions.
As the Chef/Cook/Kitchen hand your main responsibilities will include the following:

• Working closely with management to review, refine and perfect the proposed menu prior to opening
• Working throughout the kitchen sections such as Grill, Pans and Combi Oven
• Producing high quality food and presentation with a la carte dishes
• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Ensure meals are produced on time and sufficient quantities are available for service

· Maintain food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with health regulations

• Paying close attention to presentation, garnishing dishes with precision and creativity to enhance visual appeal
• Taking feedback from regular and new patrons about food taste, expectations and further improvements etc
• Working with management about improvement of efficiency
• Managing storage and food preservation to reduce wastage
• Leading the collaboration with the kitchen team and fostering a positive and productive work environment

· Conducting stocktake and checking the quality of deliveries

• Work closely with management to meet KPIs and targets
• Annual menu review with management

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• Relevant qualifications in the industry such as Certificate IV in commercial cookery or similar
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience working as a Chef in fast paced environment
• Previous experience in handmaking pizza dough is a plus
• Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Ability to work well within a team, independently and under pressure
• Passionate about creating delicious, innovative dishes (experience with Café meals and Australian comfort food such as pasta & pizza is highly desirable)
• Adherence to procedures and recipes
• Have working rights in Australia
