Clients & Markets Adviser - Advisory and Transactions Stream

The role

In this role you will be part of a team supporting the business development function for the Transactions and Advisory Stream working predominantly with the Managers for Banking & Financial Services, Restructuring & Insolvency, Corporate M&A and Capital Markets. You will be working with some of the most high-profile clients of the firm.

You will be in a critically important frontline role with one of Australia's leading law firms working. Interacting daily with Partners you will need to be a natural influencer, utilising your strong communication, and project management skills to work closely with the wider Clients and Markets team. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Advisory and Transactions Stream.

Key responsibilities include:

Working with the relevant Managers to proactively manage practice groups in alignment with the Transaction and Advisory Stream's strategic objectives
Project management of, and drafting of tenders
Identifying, planning and executing market-leading client engagement opportunities
Identifying opportunities, emerging products and service areas and market development opportunities and working to pursue these
Collaborating with relevant internal stakeholders to develop and manage client relationships
Working on other business critical projects across the business
Communicating the vision and purpose of C&M within the firm to heighten its understanding of the role of C&M as trusted advisers.

Skills & Experience

As the successful candidate you will have:

Relevant tertiary qualifications (either business or legal) coupled with legal/business development experience gained ideally from a professional services environment
Strong tender management skills and a proactive and pragmatic style
Excellent stakeholder management skills, the ability to build rapport to influence, persuade and negotiate outcomes
highly disciplined with the ability to prioritise and manage a range of complex tasks in a deadline driven environment.
Agility and proactivity, a connector and collaborator who works effectively within large team
Curiosity and intellect - an ability to ask the right questions and listen to the response
Business acumen - understanding drivers of the business.
