Debt Capital Markets Analyst
Job Summary

You are responsible for supporting the origination, structuring and execution of debt capital markets transactions in global markets. This will include preparation, analysis and presentation of data and ideas for RBC's clients seeking to raise debt financing. You will be supporting coverage of RBC's large scale Corporate and Financial clients and expected to interact regularly with these clients. The role has impact on revenue generation for the Asia-Pacific DCM team.

What is the opportunity?

As an important member of the Debt Capital Markets ("DCM") team you are responsible for supporting the origination, structuring and execution of debt capital markets transactions in global markets. This will include preparation, analysis and presentation of data and ideas for RBC's clients seeking to raise debt financing. You will be supporting coverage of RBC's large scale Corporate and Financial clients and expected to interact regularly with these clients. The role has impact on revenue generation for the Asia-Pacific DCM team.

What will you do?
  • Contribute to business generation with corporate and financial clients
  • Prepare presentations, pricing and market related updates with a focus on corporate and financial borrowers
  • Develop and Pitch ideas to clients
  • Maintenance of client relationships
  • Working with senior originators with the aim of originating new mandates for the DCM business in various forms and currencies
  • Support the execution of new issue transactions by ensuring all processes (e.g. structuring, pricing, documentation, compliance) run smoothly
  • Coordination with Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Risk Solutions and Sales & Trading colleagues in Australia and in global offices

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • At least 2 years' experience in debt capital markets or similar capital markets role
  • Strong understanding of credit markets
  • Familiarity with different asset classes and hedging instruments
  • Ability to identify suitable client solutions and present those to initiate business with issuer's
  • Ability to work within a team environment, strong collaborator with growth mindset
  • Strong organisational and presentation skills
  • Appetite to become a senior originator, leading client relationships and transactions
  • Industry qualifications applicable to the role
  • Any regulatory qualifications and ongoing mandatory training as required and directed under RBC requirements

Nice-to-have
  • Understanding of what is involved in structuring sustainable finance transactions
  • Understanding of bank regulatory capital
