Clough, as part of a Joint Venture with Saipem, is delivering the ‘Project CERES’ urea plant, a landmark project for Western Australia. The plant will be the largest in Australia and one of the largest in the world, installing the most sustainable production processes. The project is expected to generate 2,000 jobs during the construction phase, whilst delivering sustained benefits to the local community through career, training and business opportunities.

We are currently searching for a Construction Manager (Electrical & Instrumentation) to join our site-based (Chennai, India) team on Project Ceres. Reporting to the Project Director, the position will be responsible for overseeing the team at our fabrication yard, managing the complex construction scope. It will be further responsible for ensuring all electrical and instrumentation systems are installed, tested and operational to the highest standards. Additionally, you will lead initiatives to upskill and mentor a local team, empowering them to effectively assist with inspections and quality checks.
This is a FIFO position based in Chennai on 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off roster flying from capital cities around Australia.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of the local electrical and instrumentation teams, ensuring work is completed according to project plans, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Supervise the planning, execution and completion of construction/fabrication projects with a focus on E&I.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight for installation, calibration and maintenance of electrical & instrumentation systems.
  • Mentor and support local team members, providing guidance and feedback to enhance their technical skills and professional growth.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and project specifications.
  • Maintain and record project documentation.
  • Collaborate with project and external stakeholders.

Key Requirements
  • Ability to work a 6:2 rotation to Chennai, India required.
  • 10+ years of experience in a similar position, with proven experience in leading teams.
  • Experience in an EPC or lump sum environment, particularly in Oil & Gas or Construction - international experience will be highly regarded.
  • High focus on ensuring that all aspects of the construction work is performed safely.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and project specifications.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex construction projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian standards and compliance requirements.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g Bachelors Degree or equivalent, PMP and A Grade Electrical Licence) are required.
  • Hazardous Area Training Certificate (EEHA) Inspection required.
  • Ability to hold Electrical Contractors/Nominee Licence, highly regarded.
