Perth Waldorf School invites applications for an English and Humanities Teacher

Leave replacement – Term 4 2024 only – Up to 0.9 FTE
The Perth Waldorf School teaches students from Kindergarten to Class 12 according to the indications of Rudolf Steiner. Our campus in Bibra Lake is thriving, and we are in the process of expanding and growing our new campus in the Perth Hills at Parkerville Steiner College. We are seeking a dynamic and creative teacher to join our staff.

The Role:
As an English and Humanities Teacher, you will be teaching a history Main Lessons to Year 8 students. Main Lessons, which are unique to Steiner schools, allow students the opportunity to immerse themselves in one subject matter each morning for two hours, for three or four weeks. This time allows the freedom for the teacher and students to have an enlivening experience which weaves together academic, practical and artistic learning. You will also teach English to Class 8 and 9 students, Class 10 History and Class 11 Politics.

What We’re Looking For:
You are a relatable person, full of goodness who has the ability to work well with both students and colleagues. You have experience and a strong interest in teaching History and Politics and some experience with, or a willingness to teach, English. A smaller role that does not include the English classes can be considered however the teacher would still be required 4 days per week.
