Enrolled Nurse and Registered Nurse
The Maitland Hospital
About the EN Role:
As an Enrolled Nurse (EN), you will maintain timely and effective communication with the Registered Nurse (RN), ensuring seamless coordination of care. While you collaborate closely with the RN, you will also demonstrate the ability to work autonomously within your scope of practice. This balance allows you to take initiative in patient care, confidently managing tasks such as monitoring vital signs, and supporting patients in their daily activities, all while keeping the RN informed and up-to-date on patient progress and any changes in condition.
About the RN Role:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for designing and implementing personalised nursing care plans that cater to the unique needs of each patient. This involves conducting comprehensive assessments, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and tailoring interventions based on the patient’s medical condition, preferences, and individual goals. Your role is crucial in ensuring that care is patient-centred, adaptive to changing health statuses and aimed at promoting recovery, comfort, and overall well-being.
You must hold current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
Personal development and support:
- You will receive a detailed and comprehensive orientation program to ensure a smooth transition into your new role. This program includes a local ward induction, which is guided by experienced Clinical Leaders and the Nurse Unit Manager, helping you get acclimated to your specific work environment.
- New staff are also provided with supernumerary days, supported by the NUM, Team Leaders, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Medical Educators and After-hours Educators. With an open-door policy to the NUM and easy access to educators. You will find a Nursing Team that is welcoming, kind, and always ready to offer support within 4D.
- In addition, regular in-service and skills workshops are offered, along with an annual mandatory education day. There are also study days focused on medical patients, available through an expression of interest.
Welcome to The Maitland Hospital:
- Maitland Hospital offers a state-of-the-art working environment, thanks to the hospital's recent construction in 2022. With the latest technology and infrastructure, healthcare professionals can expect a comfortable and efficient workplace. Conveniently, the hospital provides free onsite parking, with additional street parking available.
- 4D is a dynamic environment dedicated to providing high-quality care to patients with a range of medical conditions. It's a place where a comprehensive multidisciplinary team is always on hand to ensure that patient care is coordinated effectively and optimised for the best possible outcomes.
- For healthcare professionals, it represents an excellent opportunity to grow and refine clinical skills, supported by a robust medical education program. The team values a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a collaborative spirit. Joining this unit means becoming part of the '4D family,' where every member is valued, supported, and integrated into the team. It's not just about working in healthcare; it's about being part of a community that values each individual's contribution to patient care and professional development.
Benefits:
- Up to 12 allocated days off each year (for full-time employees).
- Four (4) weeks annual leave for temporary and permanent employees (pro-rata if part time).
- Fitness Passport.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for staff and family members.
- Opportunity to work and collaborate with a range of non-clinical and clinical professionals.
- Working for a highly regarded public health facility, where supporting the local community is at the forefront of our business strategy.
- We regularly celebrate birthdays and other special occasions to appreciate the unique milestones and moments of our team members.
- Regular staff rounding, professional development reviews, and ward meetings provide ongoing opportunities for feedback and open communication, fostering continuous growth and improvement.
About you:
- You will be motivated and enthusiastic, eager to be part of a team that promotes a positive work culture.
- You will demonstrate patience, empathy and a proactive approach to learning, while being friendly and approachable to both colleagues and patients.
- You will be available to work a 7-day rotating roster, across all shifts, including night shifts and all days of the week.
Additional information:
- An eligibility list will be created for future permanent full or part time and temporary full or part time vacancies.
- Interviews are tentatively scheduled for the week commencing Monday 14th October 2024.
