The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a finance professional who is passionate about climate and sustainability, to join our Finance team as the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Reporting Lead. You will play a crucial role in providing timely, accurate, and insightful financial and non-financial ESG information in accordance with relevant legislation.
Reporting to the General Manager – Finance, Reporting & Procurement; a key focus of the role is developing appropriate governance and controls frameworks, procedures and reporting to ensure compliance with the new Australian sustainability accounting standards AASB S1 and AASB S2.
In this position you be responsible for co-ordinating Wes CEF’s divisional ESG reporting to Wesfarmers including half and full year reporting requirements.
Other responsibilities will also include:

• Develop relevant ESG reporting policies, frameworks and metrics.
• Act as a subject matter expert for Wes CEF on all matters related to ESG reporting.
• Prepare divisional monthly ESG reporting and provide insightful commentary.
• Review and develop reporting systems and procedures to ensure appropriate levels of control and governance are in place.
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to identify and build understanding, alignment, and consensus for effective management of climate and ESG risks and opportunities
• Create climate models for quantitative risk analysis and financial impact
• Integrate climate risks into financial models, ensuring compliance with disclosure regulations.
• Keep abreast of ESG developments in Australia and globally.

With stakeholders located at both our Murdoch and Kwinana (operational) locations you will need to be able to travel between both locations as required.
Please note that our Murdoch office will be relocating to Perth CBD in late 2025.
About You

• Relevant tertiary qualification in a business or ESG/sustainability related discipline.
• Membership of CPA Australia, Institute of Chartered Accountants or equivalent (must have).
• Must have well versed audit, risk and assurance and technical accounting skillset
• Personal attributes include a continuous improvement and innovation mindset, resilience and tenacity, attention to detail, as well as an ability and confidence to navigate change, and master new skills and challenges
• Being commercial capable of dealing with ambiguity and thinks through future scenarios
• Delivering results on fact-based logic and strong problem-solving skills, decisive, action orientated and outcome focused, with an ability to use story telling to connect, influence and engage the audience.
• Critical experiences include managing complexity and effective business partnering
• Exposure to sustainability reporting in a corporate environment (highly desirable)
• SAP experience is preferred.
