General Accountant

As the successful applicant, the Accountant will demonstrate all aspects of accounting & financing where needed with an excellent ability to solve problems. Being well-organised and meticulous, along with the capacity to work on your own and part of a team is essential.
Responsibilities - include but not limited to:
- Reviewing the bank reconciliations. Reporting on the cash and loan balances to the head office weekly and monthly
- Managing the cash-flow, planning for the loan drawdowns and term deposit placements when it is necessary
- Reviewing the payroll processing payments. Preparing payroll reports; and lodging the company payroll tax reports to State Revenue Office monthly
- Preparing Superannuation Contributions reports on a monthly basis
- Performing month end procedures including preparing all the accruals and prepayments, depreciation and amortization journal entries
- Preparing the monthly financial reports and the Business Activity Statement worksheet together with all supporting data to send to the tax agent for reviewing and lodging the BAS report to ATO portal
- Liaising with the auditors to supply reports and documents for the audit
- Completing data base backups to secure financial information
- Maintaining internal control systems to ensure effective financial compliance and prevention of fraud
- Lead the development and analysis of the 3-year financial forecast and annual budget
- Establish and maintain appropriate internal controls safeguards
- Liaise directly with external accountants and advisors
- Overseeing accounts payable and receivable
- Identifying and managing financial risks and exploring opportunities for increasing revenue and reducing costs.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending continuing professional development workshops, seminars, reviewing professional publications and participating in workplace training.
- Perform other duties and/or responsibilities as Accountant as required from time to time.
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Full Australian working rights.
- Must have experience in air-conditioning industry, especially pertaining ductwork supply and installation for non-residential projects.
- 2 + years’ experience in similar role within Australia, preferably within Sydney and NSW.
- Certificate or diploma in business administration/accounting (or equivalent) highly regarded.
- Advanced knowledge of MYOB and Microsoft 365.
- Proficient in organising tasks and punctual in meeting deadlines.
- Outstanding ability to interact and communicate with others.
- Eager and cooperative participant in team settings.
- Works well under pressure situations.
- Versatile and willing to adjust to new situations.
- Aware of and respects privacy and sensitive information.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
