We currently have the following positions available:
*High School English (up to Year 10, further expertise for HSC subjects desirable).
- Knowledge and experience with the HSC curriculum for Standard, Advanced and Extension English is desirable.
*Flexible High School Tutors (ability to tutor across both Maths/ English and the ability to guide students in other subject areas.
All positions are face to face within our Mittagong tutoring centre- please do not apply if you are looking for online tutoring.

Our tutors
Our tutors operate with their hearts and minds and ensure that all students feel heard and accepted at all stages during the tutoring process.
They are passionate about education and skill development, and work closely with our students and their families in working in their skills and abilities to help children to Break away from what is holding them back.
We are made up of educational professionals and dedicated individuals who are developing their skills in teaching students across a range of subject areas from Kindergarten to Year 12 students.
Who are we looking for?
A Self motivated, driven, heart-led individual who is able to join an expanding tutoring team.

• The ability to provide at least 2/3 afternoons of tutoring assistance per week is desirable.
• This position is specifically for in-centre sessions at our Mittagong Tutoring Centre.
• A valid working with children's check, or willingness to obtain one is necessary for this role.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• An individual who is able to think "outside the box" to gain the best educational outcome for the students they are given to work with.

Key responsibilities

• Running assessments for individuals.
• Preparing assessment and tutoring reports for parents.
• Liaising and communicating with parents .
• Understanding of the NSW curriculum.
• Engaging with students, understanding learning needs and developing tutoring plans and sessions based around needs and skill development.
• The ability to use basic online skills is beneficial.
• Extensive professional development opportunities are available in this role.

Experience and qualifications
Opportunities are available for qualified teachers, retired teachers, as well as individuals studying teaching and other relevant degrees at university.
Location
Breakaway Education is a small tutoring centre based in Mittagong, with in-home throughout the Wollondilly region.

Pay: $30.00 – $55.00 per hour
