Abel Tasman Village is a non-for-profit, 72-bed residential Aged Care facility, that was established in 1994 and since then has built a reputation of delivering outstanding care to our ageing population. Our name is well known, and respected in the community and that of the surrounding areas and we find ourselves as one of the preferred residential Aged Care facilities in South Western Sydney.
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Kitchen Hand to join our passionate team in providing high-quality, nutritious meals to our residents. As a key member of the kitchen team, you will assist with food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and hygienic environment. Your support will be essential in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and contributing to a welcoming, atmosphere for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring a high standard and quality of cleanliness throughout the workspace, including equipment.
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to our residents.
- Ensure duties are performed in accordance with Infection Control and Food safety Standards
- Receive and handle food deliveries and ensure stock is stored appropriately, especially refrigerated and/or frozen produce.
- Report worn or damaged equipment to supervisor.
- Ensuring waste is disposed of in the correct manner.
- Experience in Commercial Kitchen or Aged care (Preferred)
- A fabulous caring nature with demonstrated tolerance, patience and empathy with older people
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Ensure a safe environment for our residents and staff
- An ability to work within a diverse environment
- The ability to be available across 7 days per week or as required
- Police check or willingness to obtain
- Right to work in Australia (without limitations preferred)

Job Type: Casual
Pay: $26.00 – $26.93 per hour
